Sudbury

Lying in the MetroWest just one town north of Framingham is Sudbury. A town that is steeped in history that coincidentally has the distinct 01776 zip code. One of the noteworthy landmarks is the Wayside Inn, said to be one of the oldest inns in the country. Henry Wadsworth Longfellow wrote “Tales of The Wayside Inn” which was a collection of poems including one about Paul Revere’s famous ride. The inn was once owned by the infamous Henry Ford, who had bought it in the 1920’s and then soon restored it.

Today, the town’s center continues to mirror the history and character of its early days where churches and town buildings still stand and have been preserved with their original beauty. Sudbury’s 1 acre zoning laws have also helped maintain the rural setting and has played a part in making the town among one of the most affluent in the state. This, along with well preserved wetlands, expansive conservation areas and restricted commercial growth has made Sudbury consistently a coveted town to live in.
